TVN7

In 2017, I was commissioned to develop a concept, script, drawings and animation for Christmas idents, bumpers and endboards for a Polish TV channel TVN7. The goal was to introduce a more hand-drawn, artistic and playful style which would break with the clean geometric forms and sterile feel from the previous years. The video included stop motion, digital & 3D animation made in Adobe After Effects.

I initially created three different concepts for the ident, and one of them was chosen to be developed. The project took over two months, and the channel team was responding very favourably to the look and feel of the animation. The project got delivered on time, was ready to go on the air and the channel director was very pleased with it, however a different manager stepped in at the last minute and decided to do U-turn, asking a different animator to remake my concept into the flat geometric animation style known from previous years (a scenario which apparently is not uncommon in television).
