In 2012, I got invited by Deconstruction Project (now Arts Territory) to take part in the East and East Festival at Richmix, an arts centre in East London, the aim of which was to acquaint local residents with an experience of Eastern European culture and accompany a UEFA 2012 Quarter finals match.
Instead of presenting my visual art works, I created Unpredict-a-ball:a puppetry performance intervention in the space. Together with Matthew Smallwood, puppeteer Alex Lehman, and performers: Niki Karali, Sarah Boesen and Sarah Richards, I designed the concept and developed set and costume items, including a miniature football pitch which packed into a suitcase, striking cardboard football outfits and a giant football backpack for the character of ‘super-fan’. I also designed banknotes and performance flyer.
